Guinea Pig Stories

Hi, here are the stories of some of the Guinea Pigs that have passed through my Guinea Pig Rescue.

The Story of Cinnamon and Treacle

Cinnamon is top left, and
Treacle is next to her
Cinnamon and Treacle are sisters who came to me in April 2013 after their owner contacted me to say they could no longer keep them. Cinnamon is a ginger Guinea Pig with a White stripe on her nose and Treacle is a multi coloured Guinea Pig with a white nose. Cinnamon was approximately a year old and Treacle was about 1 and a half years old when they came to us. I took them in and with lots of patience and affection I helped them become more confident around people. They have now found a lovely, caring and safe home with a wonderful family. Their new owner 'Chloe' gives them so much love and attention and handles them every day. I still see Cinnamon and Treacle on a regular basis and they are very, very happy little piggies.

The Story of Panda

Panda
Panda came to me along with his two brothers in May 2013 as their owners could no longer look after them. Panda was around a year old when he came to me and was the most nervous out of the three as they had not been handled much and were scared of everything... But slowly with lots of attention Panda became more friendly. Panda and his brothers had a very bad case of Mites when they arrived and required lots of veterinary  treatment. They were very uncomfortable but eventually with lots of veterinary visits they got better and were able to be rehomed. Panda found a home with a lovely couple 'Rosie and Sam' and is being spoilt rotten!! He now has a new friend called 'Peanut' who he can run around and play with. I still see Panda (and Peanut) as they frequently come and stay with me for their 'holidays'.

The Story of Kitty and Kate

Kitty and Kate are two little sisters and were 4weeks old when they came to me in April 2013 (far too early to be separated from their mum). They needed feeding up and lots of handling as they were so young. They have now found a lovely, safe and very kind home with Angela and her family. They live in a big hutch with lots of grass to eat and a very loving family to look after them. I still see Kitty and Kate and they have grown into very sweet little piggies.

The Story of Biscuit and Pirate

Biscuit (left) and Pirate
Biscuit and Pirate (nee Worzel) came to me with their brother 'Panda' in May 2013.  Biscuit is a cream and white un-neutered male and Pirate is a multi-coloured un-neutered male. They were around a year old when they came to me. They were so nervous of everything when they first arrived as they had not been handled very much by their previous owners. They had a very bad case of mites when they arrived and had lots of vet visits and eventually got better and were able to be rehomed. They found a wonderful home with Nicola and her family and have been handled every day by her daughter 'Katie' and are getting more confident every day. It's amazing what a bit of love and regular handling can do.
