Christmas

Hi everyone, 

I would like to start by wishing you all a lovely Christmas and to say a big heartfelt THANK YOU for all your much needed help and support given to our rescue over the last year. It has been lovely to have had so much help and support.

It's that time of year again when people start asking me for ideas for Christmas pressies for the Guinea Pigs (and the odd rabbit from time to time) we have staying with us. We do not have a list as such but here are a few ideas...

Water Bottles

Food

Bedding (Pets At Home Hay, Straw or Woodshavings) 

Little Treats

Hot Water Bottles including covers (for small animals) 

Un opened in date medication to treat mites, lice and ringworm.

Donations of any sort are all gratefully accepted and are shared between all the piggies and bunnies we have staying with us.

Sweetie and Boo - NOW RE HOMED

Hi there, please meet Sweetie and Boo.....

These girls are approx 4 months old and came to us as their previous owner could no longer look after them. 

Boo is the smooth haired piggie and Sweetie is the pig with sticky up hair.

Sweetie is the most adventurous out of the two and Boo is a little shy.

These girls are a tiny bit nervous but are getting used to plenty of love and cuddles.

Sweetie loves to be stroked and Boo likes her food! They both like taking food from my hands.

Darla and Pickles - NOW RE-HOMED

Hi there, please meet Darla and Pickles.........

Darla is the tan and white piggie and Pickles is the tan and black piggie.

These lovely littles girls are approx 9 weeks old. 

Darla is still a little nervous but is getting used to cuddles. Pickles is very inquisitive and loves to popcorn all over her hutch (even whilst eating!)

They came to us as their previous owner could no longer look after them. When they arrived they had mites, they have now had all their treatement and have been given the all clear to be rehomed.

Newton and Poppy - NOW REHOMED

Hi there, please meet Newton and Poppy.......

Newton is nearly a year old and has been neutered. He came to us a couple of months ago as he and his brother did not get along. 

Poppy is approx 6 months old........

Poppy and Newton have recently been bonded together and it has really bought their personalities out a lot, they are more vocal and interested in everything you are doing now. Poppy loves squeaking at you.

they are very happy together and come up to the front of the hutch to see me now and like taking food from my hands.

Percy and Perry - REHOMED

Hi there, please meet Perry and Percy..........

Perry is the black piggie on the right and Percy is the brown and white piggie on the left.

These two very sweet boys are approx a year old. 

This is Perry.....

They enjoy eating carrots, apples and watermelon and like hiding in tubes.

This is Percy.......

They are becoming a little less nervous and come to see me a lot more especially when they know I have food!  With plenty of love and handling they will become more confident.

Patch and Fluffy -NOW REHOMED

Hi there please meet Patch and Fluffy.......

Patch is the large black, ginger and white guinea pig on the right and Fluffy is the smaller Guinea pig with spikey hair on the left.

Patch came to us as her family could no longer keep her. She is approx 3 years old. 

Patch is a friendly little piggie. She had not been handled much when she arrived so was a bit nervous but is now used to lots of handling and cuddles.

Fluffy is nearly 6 months old and was also a bit nervous as she had not been handled much, she is now also getting used to lots of handling and cuddles.

Hutch - FOR SALE

Hi there, we have many different hutches for sale here at our rescue....

We have had a lot of very kind hearted people donate their hutches/cages and runs to us so we can either keep them for our resident piggies or sell to help raise money for our rescue. Money from the sales of the cages/hutches and runs goes towards food, bedding and vet bills. They are second hand so are not in perfect condition.

The hutch for sale is the top hutch and measure approx 47 1/2" Long x 21 1/2" High x just over 17 1/2" Deep. It has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. 

It is 2nd hand so is not in perfect condition but is fine to house 2 guinea pigs.

The white bits on the floor of the hutch are just staining.

Hutch - SOLD

This hutch is not suitable for rabbits.

It measures approx 38" Long x nearly 16" Deep x 19" Tall.

It is not in perfect condition but is solid and is suitable for guinea pigs.

Roxy - Now Re-homed

Hi there, please meet Roxy........

We need to find a new loving home for this very sweet little girl.

Roxy is dark grey and white and is an inquisitive little girl who loves to explore, so you will need a secure garden. She is just over a year old.

She has been neutered and is up to date with her vaccinations.

Roxy is a little nervous around new people but once she trusts you her lovely personality will shine through. She eats food from your hand and loves strokes.

Sunshine, Surprise and Cappuccino - NOW RE-HOMED

Hi there, please meet Sunshine, Surprise and Cappuccino........

These three girls were at our rescue earlier this year as their previous owner was moving and could not take them with her so asked me to re-home them for her. They were 'free range' guinea pigs enjoying the delights of their freedom in a very, very big back garden. At their previous home they would go out in the morning to explore and at dusk would very happily put themselves to bed. We would ideally like these girls to go to a similar home that they have been used to. 

Sunshine is approx 2-3 years old and is mum to Surprise.

Surprise is approx 1yr old.....

Cappuccino is over a year but we do not know how old she is.

Bubble and Squeak - NOW REHOMED

Hi there, please meet Bubble and Squeak.......

Bubble and Squeak are sisters and are nearly 2 years old. 

Bubble is the long haired guinea pig on the left and Squeak is the short haired piggie on the right.

They came to us as their previous owner is sadly allergic to them. 

Squeak has a sore on her head caused by a burst cyst or abscess and will be seeing the vet soon to receive the necessary treatment for this and should make a full recovery.

These lovely little girls are friendly but a little nervous but do let you stroke them. With plenty of love and cuddles they will get over this.

Snowbell - NOW RE-HOMED

Hi there please meet Snowbell.....

Snowbell has come to our rescue as she has lost her friend and her previous owner would like us to find her a new friend here at the rescue. 

We believe Snowbell to be approx  1 1/2 yrs old.

She is very friendly and loves cuddles and laying on your lap. She also likes grass, carrots and cucumber and chopped apple.

Milkshake and Truffles - NOW RE-HOMED

AHi there, please meet Milkshake and Truffles........

Milkshake is the white guinea pig and Truffles is the multicoloured guinea pig. 

We believe Truffles and Milkshake are nearly 3 years old.

Truffles and Milkshake came to our rescue back in January 2014 as their owner's could not keep them. We found them a lovely new home with a new loving family but now unfortunately they are moving and cannot take the girls with with them so they are now back with us. 

These lovely girls are very friendly, Milkshake even comes up to the front of the hutch to say hello.

The hutch for sale is the top hutch out of the two. It is in a wonderful, sturdy and solid condition.

It measures approx 27 inches tall at the front and slopes downwards at the back to 25 inches tall x 52 inches long x 24 inches deep.

Hutch - FOR SALE

The hutch for sale is the bottom hutch with the rabbits inside. 

It measures approx 49 inches long x 25 1/2 inches deep x 28 inches tall.

It is very sturdy and has enough room for 2 rabbits to stand up in. 

It is in a really good used condition.

Pom - LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME

Hi there please meet Pomm.....

Pomm came to us as his previous owner's were moving and could not take him with them.

He was used to breed. 

When he arrived he had mites and has now had treatment. 

We believe Pomm is approx 3years old.

Annie, Peaches, Fizz and Betty - NOW RE - HOMED

Hi there please meet Annie, Peaches, Fizz and Betty, 

These girls came to us in a group of 6 as their previous owners could no longer keep them.

Unfortunately they had ringworm when they came and are now having treatment for this. 

Betty.......

We believe Betty to be approx 1year old. She was so nervous when she came here but now she lets me stroke her! She is still nervous but we are getting there. 

Annie.....

We believe Annie was born on 21/7/14. Annie is still nervous but is getting used to us and does not run away as much. With regular handling and love she should get over this.

Peaches.....

We believe Peaches was born on 11th February 2015. She is very nervous bless her, we are taking each day slowly to build her confidence up and it is working! She used to run and hide in the furthest corner but now she stops and just watches you. She will overcome her nervousness with plenty of cuddles and handling.

Fizz.....

We believe Fizz was born on 11th Feb 2015. She is also very nervous but we are winning! With plenty of love and gentle handling she will hopefully overcome this.
